I took the first part of my Berlitz Spanish examination today. It was the written portion.
Unfortunately the format of the test left much to be desired.
Ex. 1)
El necesita ……………… leer esta novela
a. a
b. para
c. al
d. …..
Instead of offering the option “dejar como es” or “leave as is”–Berlitz decided the give us the option of ellipses to complete the sentence…
Ex. 2)
10. Tienen que ……………… esta regla.
b. sepan
c. teneis
d. terminar
This is translated as: “They have to………………………this rule”
options:
a. that they read
b. that they know
c. you all have (Spain and pockets of S. America)
d. end
I chose d., to end this rule, because it was the only one that made even a little bit of sense.
You would think that they would come up with better grammar comprehension questions than this for $150.00
There were several typos which impeded the whole process, which was timed.
I have to call back and schedule a time for my oral exam.
